1080ti VS 2080ti

Recommended Posts

I'm planning to upgrade my gpu to 2080ti. however, I still have some questions:

1 Is the 2080ti was fully supported by Cycles 4d?

2 How much performance improvement it will bring comparing with 1080TI ?

3 If I have two 2080Ti installed,  will it improve the real time preview, or it will only speed the offline rendering ?

Hello.

I bought new pc with rtx 2080Ti for using GPUs renders but it don't work for me.

When i choose CUDA for Real-Time Render it stop updating image, only CPU work for me when I use Cycles4D.

But, when I test RealTime with my Old Pc (gtx 750) it work perfectly.

I have Cycles4D Demo serial numbe. Project 16 bit. Tested only on C4D R19 (C4D R20 cant see Cycles4D Plugin).

Please Help me fix this issue and start using your products.

Thank You.

My New PC:

CPU - AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX

GPU - ZOTAC GeForce RTX 2080 Ti AMP Extreme Core

MB  - MSI Meg X399 Creation

RTX isn't supported for build 247 (which is the current release and demo), for early access build (294) and the next release it is supported.

off topic, there is a known Windows bug (in Windows kernel itself) about Threadripper, it only uses half of the cores (even if it shows full CPU utilization) which gives half the expected performance from that CPU family.

this is in all Windows applications which uses one of that CPU family (not just Cycles 4D).

thanks for reply.

I checked my cycles version, it's build(274). Is that mean 2080ti is not supported until next version? so it's not a good time to upgrade.  and what time is the 294 released?

@Martin thanks for reply, I have downloaded the EA 294, now I'm testing it.

Is it working in RTX 2080 Ti ? ?

Sorry to bring back an older thread but it should help some of those with a TR system

Regarding the TR/Epyc processors issue, its only affecting core count above 16. The partial workaround is at Extremetech
