Bubbles in viscous fluid

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to achieve something like this in x-particles :

So far, my workaround is to have one emitter for the fluid, one for the bubbles.

I mesh the first one and i tell octane to create specular spheres with the second one.

However, this is not ideal and the result isn't great. The ideal situation would be having the mesher use my bubbles to substract the mesh. But in order to do that, I need a tiny voxel size (small bubbles) and  it ruins the liquid mesh (that requires at least bigger voxel size and a lot of filters in order to appear fluid.

Is there a better way to do this? Or is it a limitation of xParticles ? (haven't seen any video like this)
